Overall Strategy

Many of the same inequalities that drive the spread of HIV also drive migration.
 Produce Strategic Information 

Outcome 1: Intellectual Leadership, research and analysis on the linkages among migration, mobility and vulnerability to HIV demonstrated and shared.

 

Key Activities

 

1.1 Promote high quality focused epidemiological and behavioural surveillance among vulnerable mobile populations (including sex workers, IDUs, MSM, ethnic minorities and women) while protecting confidentiality and individual rights.

 

1.2 Develop strategic research, issue policy papers and produce briefing materials on key issues on HIV and mobility.

 

1.3 Coordinate multi-agency teams to respond to national government and partner requests for support for specific types of knowledge and assistance to better guide their responses.

 

1.4 Develop an information clearing house and information referral system, by expanding existing websites (www.atfoa.net, www.hivmobilitysea.org, www.unescobkk.org) and creating expert/resource databases (experts, tools, and program models).
